Bible study

What to expect

Our Thursday night meeting consists of both prayer and Bible study.  The prayer meeting starts at 7:30 pm and continues to some time between 8:00 and 8:10 pm.  We then begin our Bible reading which is conducted in a conversational format.

A Bible Readings is a  useful way of learning from the Word of God. The Bible passage is read, then the leader of the study makes a short introduction before he opens  the study to others for comments.

Benefits of conversational Bible study

There are many benefits of a conversational  Bible Study. Rather than one man simply expounding the Scriptures (teaching from the Bible), all the men are encouraged to get involved, asking questions, offering insights and generally discussing the meaning of the passages.  This helps to establish the Christians in the truths of the Word of God. Both new and older believers benefit by either learning new truths or being reminded of the truths learned in earlier years.

It’s also a good platform for discussing how to apply the Word of God in daily living which helps us to “live out our faith”.

Generally a conversational Bible study also promotes personal study since there is more benefit for all when people come prepared to discuss the passage.

Allowing opportunity for the varied spiritual resources of many in the assembly helps to promote growth and maturity of the believers.

All are welcome to our Bible Study
